Send Effects
Modulation of the send levels with polyphonic modulators, such as velocity, polyphonic
aftertouch, keyposition and release velocity, switches the tap
point of the send from post-amp and post-instrument-insert to
post-amp and pre-instrument insert. This can change the sound.
Deletion of the polyphonic modulation restores the sound.
MIDI Remote Assign
Faders can be remotely controlled by MIDI control changes. To assign a MIDI controller
to a fader right-click on the fader and choose "MIDI remote".
A dialog opens. Moving the fader will assign the MIDI control
number of the fader and close the dialog. A double click in the
MIDI CC# field allows for the numerical entry of the control change
number. The smoothing parameter smoothes the incoming MIDI data,
to avoid zipping noise. The higher the smoothing value the less
responsive the knob becomes, when controlled over MIDI. Soft takeover
ensures that no unintended fader jumps occur when using external
MIDI controllers. When soft takeover is activated the external
fader has to catch the fader in the software.
Note: Several knobs can be assigned to the same controller. Note:
The modulation wheel usually has control number 1.
Naming convention of the instruments on the content CDs
An instrument of KONTAKT on the content CD consists of two things, the samples in a sample folder and an instrument file, the *.nki file. The instrument file tells KONTAKT where the samples belong and what settings apply.
Instruments that do not have their own samples, but rely on samples from another folder have an extension in brackets [].
Example:
Original instrument: Piano.nki
Derived from original: Piano [ensemble].nki
