Getting Started
    The EarthDesk Atlas is divided into four major parts and serves the following four purposes:

    1) Storing and searching EarthDesk's database of cities.

    2) Storing a "Favorites" list of frequently used cities.

    3) Configuring the local time zone. (See Getting Started).

    4) Displaying limited time information for each city.

    Searching the City List

    As you type the first few letters of a city's name in the "Find Location" box, the city list will narrow down its contents to only those cities matching your search string. For example, typing "Lon" will limit the city list to those cities whose names begin with "Lon."

    Atlas Top

    The city list will be searched based on the current sort field. You can toggle the sort field between city and country by clicking on the header bar above each column.

    Placard Display

    At the bottom of the Atlas window is a placard which displays information for the currently selected city in the Main Atlas list. By choosing an option from the popup menu in the lower left corner of the window, you can display the following:

    Total matching records in found set

    Current date and time in selected city

    Atlas Top
    Local times of sunrise and sunset

    Atlas Top
    Local times of moonrise and moonset

    Atlas Top
    Graph of the relative lengths of day, twilight and night
    with the red mark indicating current local time

    Atlas Top
    Distance and direction from your Home Location
    to the selected city

    Atlas Top
    Latitude and Longitude of the selected city
