Version 1.3.2

  1. Updated the registration dialog to support automatic launching of order web page.
  2. Fixed a bug which could prevent proper text field entry in the application and file preference dialogs. The first text fields in the different panels, which are supposed to be automatically targeted, would be unresponsive. Further, this could result in a crash in the 68K version.
  3. Fixed a bug with the file preferences dialog which could result in lost changes if the document were not explicitly saved with the Save As command.
  4. Fixed a bug which would prevent List Browsers and Item Editors from being updated after a file preferences change until the document was closed and re-opened.

Version 1.3.1

  1. The Application and File Preferences windows now remember their positions.
  2. Fixed a conflict with Action Files which could cause List Pad to crash on quit.
  3. Fixed a bug where saving File Preferences in the 68K version could cause List Pad to crash.
  4. Fixed a bug which caused the cursor to jump in dialogs and over OS elements (i.e. Control Strip) with Color Cursors turned on.
  5. Fixed the color pointer option so that the pointer updates when the preferences are saved.

Version 1.3

  1. Item save has been simplified. Now whenever you close an Item Editor your changes are recorded in the list.
  2. Auto Save has been updated and improved. The main difference to the user is the ability to specify that lists be automatically saved when closed.
  3. The snooze feature of Alarms has been improved. Snooze now snoozes from the current time rather than the alarm time. That way if you open a list and see an alarm that's already a day old snooze will pause the alarm for the time you enter, rather than simply going off again.
  4. Users may now set the display font used in the List Browser.
  5. New HTML Manual.
  6. The registration system is now password based to make upgrading easier and to allow us to use multiple distributors.
  7. Fixed a number of callback constants which could have potentially caused problems on Power Macs.
  8. Fixed a compiler setting which caused List Pad to quit if certain libraries were not present on the host Macintosh.
  9. The dialogs were all updated with standard command and control key support (i.e. escape for Cancel, command + first character for buttons). In addition, some dialogs were redesigned to better fit Apple's guidelines.
  10. The Balloon View was updated to use the standard Mac OS 8 palette look and feel and a more stylish look and feel under Mac OS 7.

Version 1.2

  1. Lists can now be sorted, via an easy to use dialog, on more than one field at a time. All fields are available for sorting, ascending or descending. Note that when the Notes field is included in a sort, only the first 64 characters are used when sorting on the Notes field.
  2. Streamlined the Open Special Menu. The menu now just lists the Special Files. The Special Files list is set in the Startup Menu window, which now has commands for adding and deleting files.
  3. Implemented "safe save" using standard Mac OS File Manager calls. List Pad now writes changes to a temporary file, then swaps file information after the data is safely saved. This protects the original file should something go wrong with the save.
  4. The List Pad manual is now accessible via the Window and Help menus. Balloon View is also accessible via the Help menu. (Note: in 1.1 the manual couldn't be opened even from the Startup Menu due to a minor bug. This has been fixed.)
  5. Now when you hold down the option key while selecting a Priority/Label/Category filter, any other marked filters are turned off.

Version 1.1

  1. Modified the date, time, and currency fields to support international formats and to use the format settings of the user's system, set in the Date & Time and Numbers control panels.
  2. Added a Month of Year repeating option which allows users to set an alarm to repeat on the same date of every selected month.
  3. Added a "5th Week" field to the Day of Month repeating option. 5th Week repeats do not occur unless there is a 5th week in the month, unlike the "Last Week" field which repeats in either the 4th or 5th week. (Setting an alarm to repeat in the 5th week of February will cause it to repeat in the 4th week instead *if* February is the only month selected.)
  4. Added Silence Alarm and Snooze Alarm... commands to the Item menu.
  5. The following bugs which were in 1.0 have been fixed in 1.1:
    1. The Custom Interval repeating option (which includes all of the 'preset' repeating options) would cause List Pad to crash depending on the time it was computing from. Generally users were bound to eventually run into this when the alarm went off or was silenced, if not immediately upon setting the option and saving the Item. We believe this bug, which was due to a minor programming error, was inadvertently added between final beta and release.
    2. The Day of Month repeating option would, under some settings, cause List Pad to "freeze", i.e. List Pad would search endlessly for the next iteration not realizing that it was passing up valid iterations. This repeating option has been rewritten, and this should no longer be a problem.
    3. With the Day of Week and Day of Month repeating options users could enter invalid settings (i.e. no boxes checked in the dialogs), which could potentially freeze or crash List Pad. List Pad no longer accepts invalid settings, reverting instead to the old settings as if the Cancel button had been pressed.
    4. Double clicking an Item in the Alarm Browser would cause List Pad to crash. It now properly opens the Item Editor.
    5. List Pad 1.0 saved a file by deleting the original and writing the updated version. This could wreak havoc with Mac OS aliases pointing to List Pad files (including the alias records stored by List Pad), confuse backup applications, and would also effectively destroy the creation date. This was a bug in the ABC's (the framework used with List Pad) and has been fixed. 1.1 saves the new data to the same file.
    6. The Build New List... command had two bugs. It did not appropriately clone the Items from the source list, which could cause some very confusing behavior (i.e. edits to an Item in one list being reflected in the same Item in the other list) until one of the documents was closed and reopened. This has been fixed. Also, File Prefs are now transferred to the duplicate list.
    7. Items were previously date stamped 0/0/0. They are now stamped with the date of their creation, or the default date for documents with a default Item.
    8. File Prefs are now accessible from the Item Editor as well. Previously this menu item was dimmed when an Item Editor was in front.
    9. The Item Print Layout did not properly format numbers. It now does using the same system settings as the fields in the Item Editor.

Version 1.0

Premier release.
