PolyPhontics GB has some built-in features that might not be obvious to the casual user. This section describes tips that will save you time and make your work more efficient when using PolyPhontics GB.
- TIP: To help you set keyboard ranges more quickly, you can apply a file naming scheme that the PolyPhontics Library understands. Adding the pattern [start-base-end] to a filename causes the Library to automatically set the keyboard range when you add the sample to Samples list in the Instrument Editor. For example, to cause a piano sample (named piano.mp3) to automatically set the keyboard range (start key=30; base key=50; end key=70), rename the file like this:
piano[30-50-70].mp3
Upon addition to a Software Instrument document, PolyPhontics GB will automatically set the keyboard selection range and base key for the sample.
- TIP: Clicking the
button in the Library drawer imports audio files like AIFF, WAVE, and MP3 into the Library. Option-click the same button to import a SoundFont™ file just as you would with the Library->Import from SoundFont™ menu.
- TIP: You can transfer a file from the Library to the Samples list in an Instrument document in one of three ways:
- Select a sample in the Library drawer and click the
button... OR
- Drag a sample from the Library drawer to the Samples list in the Instrument Editor... OR
- Double-click a sample in the Library drawer.
- TIP: Don't forget about multiple selections in the Library drawer. SHIFT or CONTROL click samples in the Library to select them. Then you can perform functions on multiple samples at once (e.g. remove multiple samples from library or add to the Samples list in the Instrument Editor).
