Getting Started
Building software instruments with PolyPhontics GB is a simple three step process.
1. Create New Instrument Document
For registered users, PolyPhontics GB launches and creates a new document by default. For unregistered users, PolyPhontics GB displays a welcome screen, and a new document upon dismissal of the welcome screen. You can also create a new document by selecting File->New. A PolyPhontics GB document contains the settings that make up a software instrument.
Chief among these settings is the Instrument Title. Name your instrument something that is completely unique among your collection of software instruments.

2. Add and Edit Samples
Each software instrument is composed of audio samples. You can import many common audio file formats, including AIFF, WAVE, and MP3. To add samples to an instrument, click Add Sample. When you add samples into an Instrument Document, PolyPhontics GB assigns default values to the various sample parameters, like keyboard range, pan, and reverb. You can edit these values by clicking Edit Sample.

3. Build Software Instrument
Once you've added to your instrument, you can build a software instrument and use it in GarageBand™ Click Build Instrument. A standard Save dialog opens where you can name the software instrument file. Note also that the Save dialog opens to the default location in OS X for software instruments. If you do not save the software instrument in this location, GarageBand may not be able to locate it. After you finish building a software instrument, you can begin using it in GarageBand compositions.
