Modifying a Notebook’s Template Pages

Every Notebook has a “template” page for each of the six NoteBook page types.  Whenever you add a new Divider page, for example, NoteBook creates it by duplicating the Notebook’s Divider page template.  Use the Defaults menu’s “Show Template Pages” option to modify a Notebook’s template pages.

Choose the Page Inspector for the settings you want to change.  For example, if you want to change a template page’s format settings, switch to the Page Format Inspector.  Then choose “Show Template Pages...” from the Defaults menu.

Choose a template page from the popup , then use the Inspector to modify it.

Switch to a different Page Inspector to modify a different set of template page settings.  Click “Save Changes” when you’re done.

If you use the Page Format Inspector to set the template to show Keywords, and the Page Tab Inspector to add a tab to the template, for example, all new Outlining pages will have tabs and have their Keywords column visible.
