Applying effects to an image

Picturesque lets you take a starting image, apply effects to it, and save the new image.

  1. Drag your starting image from the Finder or another application onto the Picturesque window.

    If you are uncomfortable with drag and drop, you can also choose Add Image from the File menu.

  2. Use the Inspector Palette to apply various effects to your image.

    Click the disclosure triangle to the left of an effect's name to see the options for that effect. If you do not want a certain effect to be applied, click the checkbox to the right of its name so the tick is removed.

  3. Click the Save As button to save a copy of the image as shown, with the effects applied.

If the Inspector Palette is not showing, choose Window > Show Inspector.

To do another image, click Cancel and start again. You can also apply the same effect to a collection of images at once. See the Learn More link below.
