Unison Icon

What do the colored dots mean in a group window?

Unison displays colored dots next to most items in groups. These dots can mean different things depending on the currently active view.

In Files and Music view:

A green dot indicates a file (or group of files) that Unison believes is complete, meaning that the entire file (or group of files) appears to be present on the server.

A red dot indicates a file that Unison believes is incomplete. At least one part of the file is missing on the server. The missing parts may arrive at the server later, or may have already expired.

A yellow dot indicates that at least one file is missing from a group of files. However, some of the files in the group are complete, and can be downloaded.

In Messages view:

A blue dot indicates an unread message. The blue dot disappears when the corresponding message is read.

A half-full blue dot indicates a message thread in which some messages have been read and some have not.

To view shapes instead of colors in Files and Music view, choose Preferences from the Unison menu, click General, and click "Use shapes to indicate item status".
