Setting the number of simultaneous downloads
By default, Unison allows you to download two files simultaneously. Other downloads will be queued until a download completes, and a free slot becomes available. You can change the number of downloads if you wish.
To adjust the number of simultaneous downloads, choose Preferences from the Unison menu, click Downloads, then enter the desired number for "Number of simultaneous downloads".
Note that is is not always beneficial to increase this number. The more simultaneous downloads you have, the more saturated your network connection will become, which may be undesirable on a shared connection.
Additionally, some Usenet servers impose a limit on the number of simultaneous connections you can make. If you exceed this limit, you may start to get error messages from the server that you are making too many connections, and should adjust this number back down.
