Description: You can create this animation using the text decompose and time align features on an animated text object (skew and scale dance). The control of the anchor point position will give the feeling that the letters stick their baseline.

1- Create a new project 234*60 (half size web banner)
2- Using the text tool enter the two words "Amaze me!" Be sure that the current time is still at position 00:00 (beginning of the project)
3- Using the text palette (Windows menu, Show Text Attributes), change the font, the size, the letter spacing and so on to get the typography as you wish
Use text tool to create and edit text
Use the arrow tool to position the objects
4- Select the text object (using arrow tool) and decompose it into letters using the smart icon with the option "Center new anchor points"
5- Select the different letters issue from the text decomposition and deplace their anchor point onto the the letter's baseline. The anchor point is the small black cross placed at the center of the letters.
Use Option key to move the anchor point with the arrow tool
6- Select all the letters and move the current time to 00:07 frames later (click 7 times on the time line icon or move the current time manually)
7- Open the object attributes palette (Windows menu, Show Object Attributes) and set the x-scale to 1.1, the y-scale to 1.5 and the x-skew to 18

8- Move the current time to 00:14
set the x-scale to 1, the y-scale to 1 and the x-skew to 0

Move the current time to 00:21
set x-scale to 1.1, the y-scale to 1.5 and the x-skew to -15

Move the current time to 00:29
set the x-scale to 1, the y-scale to 1 and the x-skew to 0

9- Display the Synchro Window and select all the objects. Then stretch down their lifespan (current 00:29) to 00:08 frames by dragging any of the right handles to the left holding down the option key to stretch the animation we have done.
10- Click on the Time align icon to display the different settings of this feature, enter 3 in the Start (by value) text field and press OK
11- Drag the left handles of the selected objects to 00:00 (without any control key so that keyframes are kept in time)
Drag the right handles of the selected objects to 00:29 (without any control key so that keyframes are kept in time)
12- You are done!
So now you can add the bottom piece of text (drag before the current time back to 00:00) and create an animated Gif (suggested settings are 16 color palette, optimize animation and 10 frames per seconds. You can also use the palette provided with the demo file).
13- If you want to slow down the animation, select all the objects and drag their right handles to 01:20 for example holding down the option key to stretch the animation in time. Then adjust the output yellow line and make the animation again.
