7.44 Assigning actions to file types
You can define custom actions which will be executed when you double click on
a file you have received in your account's data box.
For example, you might want to run MultiView for pictures, GoldEd for
texts and X-Arc for archives.
To define a new file type:
- Label: - this is a label for the file type you're defining.
- Pattern: - this is a standard AmigaOS pattern. For example,
if you want to define actions for pictures, you could enter "(#?.gif|#?.iff|#?.jpg)".
- Command: - the command that will be executed when you double
click on a file matching 'Pattern' in your data box.
Any occurrence of %f will be replaced with the file name, while
%p will be replaced with the name of the screen where STFax is.
