Basics Part Two
Janeway and her crew, stranded on a volcanic planet, are making plans for survival in their new, hostile environment. Hindering the search for food and water are a primative humanoid race and strange terrifying beasts. Meanwhile, the USS Voyager is in the hands of the Kazon Nistrim. Flashback Tuvok repeatedly suffers a frightening hallucination. When the doctor cannot help the Vulcan, Janeway volunteers to participate in a hazardous mind meld. The experience takes them 80 years into the past, to the time of Captain Hikaru Sulu and the USS Excelsior.
