Considerations and requirements for stereo under Windows 9x:
- DirectX 6 must be installed as a minimum; DirectX 6.1 is better.
- At the selected resolution, the monitor must reach a refresh rate of at least 100 Hz (120 Hz is better), as the 3D glasses cut the actual refresh rate in half and a 3D effect isn't visible at rates of less than 50 Hz.
Flat (LCD) screens are not suitable for the display of stereo modes since they generally can only display a maximum refresh rate of 75 Hz.
Use the program \PROGRAMS\DIRECTX\SETUP\DXDIAG.EXE to set a user-defined DirectX refresh rate. Under 'Further Help', you can change the DirectDraw refresh rate from 'Standard' to the desired value.
- To get the stereo effect, ensure that the Direct3D application is set to double buffer rather than triple buffer when using the ELSA VICTORY II.
- Activate 'Stereo' on the 'ELSA Stereo' tab in the 'Display Properties' dialog box. Up to 4 cable-type 3D glasses can be used in conjunction with a cable adapter, or up to 6 infrared ELSA 3D REVELATOR models on an infrared emitter on one PC.
