How do I use the water wheel?

Have you looked at it closely?

Hint 2 of 8:

Then you might have noticed that a stick is jammed in the wheel.

Hint 3 of 8:

Click on it to pry it out and the wheel will start running.  (Look on the far
right side of the screen for the stick).

Hint 4 of 8:

Now that the wheel is running, you'll notice that the hand starts slamming
itself down on the ground.

Hint 5 of 8:

The hand can probably crush anything that you put underneath it.

Hint 6 of 8:

Some items are meant to be crushed -- you'll know what those are when you
read other hints.  If you see a message like "It was smashed", then you know
that you've crushed an item that you didn't need to.

Hint 7 of 8:

To retrieve those items that you were supposed to crush, you need a fairly
large scooping device/container.

Hint 8 of 8:

The farmer has one that you can use.
