Waimea Bay
A little farther on up the road from Haleiwa is the world famous Waimea Bay. The Beach Boys sang about this place (and mispronounced it too!). The waves in the winter time sometimes get as big as 30 feet and only the real experienced Big Wave surfers dare go out.
This Vr was shot using a Kodak DC 50 digital camera on Saturday November 2nd 1996. It was sunny and the surf was pretty flat here in the bay.
Waimea is pronounced Why-may-uh.
