Kids World 1.0.1 Read Me

Thank you for using Kids World.  This document contains important
information not found in the Kids World User's Guide.


System Requirements:
-------------------
 - Windows version 3.1 or higher
 - A 386 based (or higher) PC
 - 4MB of RAM (minimum)
 - VGA or better Video.  (256 Colors Recommended)
 - A Windows-compatible mouse


Installation:
------------
To install Kids World, follow these instructions:

FROM DOS: 
	- Instert Disk 1 into your floppy drive.
	- Type A:
	- Type  SETUP
	- Follow the instructions on screen.

FROM WINDOWS:
	- Insert Kids World Installer Disk 1 into your floppy drive.
	- From the Windows Program Manager, choose Run from the
		File Menu.
	- Type  A:SETUP on the command line.  Click OK.
	- Follow instructions on screen.

The installer will copy the following files to your hard drive:

Into the directory which you specify (default is C:\KIDSWRLD)
	- KW.EXE                The Kids World Program
	- SAVERAPP.EXE          An applet to set screen saver settings
	- WORLDS directory      Required resource files
	- SCENES directory      Sample files, default user directory
	- README.TXT            This file

Into the WINDOWS directory:
	- BJISM100.DLL          DLL required for running KW screensavers
	- BJI.INI               Preferences file


Kids World Notes:
----------------

Color:

Kids World looks and performs best on monitors set to display 256
colors.  When run in fewer than 256 colors (eg, VGA mode, which is
16 colors), the quality of the artwork is reduced.  When run in 
more than 256 colors (eg, 64K colors), the memory requirement for
Kids World is increased and the size of your saved Kids World files 
will also be increased.  For these reasons, we recommend running in
256 colors.  To adjust the number of colors displayed by your monitor,
open the Windows Setup application in the Main program group, and 
choose Change Settings from the Option menu. Then, choose the driver
that will display 256 colors (eg, 640x480x256).

Video Drivers:

If you have any trouble running Kids World, please make sure that 
your video driver is up to date.  The current video driver can be
obtained from the manufacturer of your video card.
