SWBCapture (C)2000 Software with Brains, Inc. ####################################################### PURPOSE ####################################################### SWBCapture is a screen capture utility that allows you to quickly and easily capture an image of any window on your desktop, or the entire desktop. The application does not support capturing of random areas of the desktop, only individual windows. The application can be configured to save all captures to the clipboard, to a named file (prompted at time of capture), or "autosaved" to a temporary file in a directory of your choice. The application can save captured images to BMP, JPG, or GIF format, and supports variable amounts of compression/quality for JPG formatted images. ####################################################### USAGE ####################################################### To use the application, simply run the SWBCAP.EXE and click the Options button. Select how you would like the captured windows saved: to the Clipboard, to a named file (prompted at capture time) or Autosaved to a temp file. If you choose Auto- Save, you should also select a directory below by clicking the button with the Folder on it to browse the directory tree for a folder. Additionally, when Auto-Save is selected, you can select to save files with sequential file numbers appended to the name, or with random file names. The Base Name field allows you to specify the starting portion of the file name before the sequential number or the random number. If you leave the Base Name field blank, 'CAP' is used as the base name for all auto-saved images. If you have chosen to capture the window images to a file, you should then select the image type: BMP (bitmap), JPG, or GIF format. If you select JPG format, you should use the slider to choose the quality of the image you want to save. The higher the quality you choose, the larger the resultant physical image file will be. Click OK to save the options, and return to the main window. To capture a screen, simply drag the small window icon (using your left mouse button ) off of the SWBCapture window and over another window. The cursor will change to a crosshairs when you begin dragging it. It can then be dropped on any other window. When you release the mouse button, the window under the cursor is captured. A sound is made to confirm that the capture has occurred. Make sure you are not dragging the entire SWBCapture window. You should only drag the small window "icon" displayed in the SWBCapture window. ####################################################### LICENSE & DISTRIBUTION ####################################################### SWBCapture is FREEWARE for personal use or use at your place of business.
