This chart is based on the examination and measurement of
7.5-minute quadrangles (except for San Luis Peak, a 15-minute quadrangle showing no
sub-peaks), at their 40' resolution, looking for any high points above 14000'. Those
marked ( * ) are generally-recognized sub-peaks. "Rise" means rise above the
nearest saddle and may be off as much as 80 feet. Distances, "Distance", to main
peaks were measured to 0.5mm accuracy and then scaled up to miles. As the comments column
indicates, nine multiple peaks and 12 in-between peaks may be added to the 40 sub-peaks
listed, giving a total of 61 high points.
