CDD 2000 Firmware Upgrade procedure: Version 1.25 1996/04/15 Note A: This procedure is only valid if the CDD2000 is provided with a flash eprom.!!!! All CDD2000 units produced in 1995 are equipped with a flash eprom. Connect the CDD2000 via a SCSI host adapter to the computer Verify access to the CDD2000 and note the SCSI ID / targetnumber. Make sure that there is no disc in the tray of the CDD2000 drive, and reset the CDD2000. Run the flash eprom upgrade program by entering: drive name:\subdir\newflash.exe targetnumber filename. Assuming that the files NEWFLASH.EXE and FLASH125.CVT are in the CDDREC subdirectory of your C-drive, change to the CDDREC subdirectory ( CD\CDDREC ) and then type: NEWFLASH 2 FLASH125.CVT In case of problems the program returns with an error message or a request. Data transfer is indicated by busy indication on the monitor " WRITING...." When the upgrade procedure is completed the following message appears: " Buffer was written OK...." !!!! DO NOT OPERATE THE CDD2000 UNTIL THE GREEN LED STOPPED FLASHING !!!! The flash/upgrade procedure will be continued by CDD2000 automatically. This is indicated by the orange writing desk. After approx. 60 sec. the orange / writing and the red / error LED will flash for aprox 1 sec., followed by flashing of the green / reading LED. Now the procedure is completed and the set can be operated via the normal application. Note B: In case the upgrade procedure failed the flash eprom must be replaced by an external programmed version.
