A slight college radio rock bias is evident more in the ads than the editorial, which does a pretty good job of being color blind. Beefy features and many mid-length reviews of both independent and major-label releases make OPTION the up-and-coming contender to be the successor to Rolling Stone. As major labels buy more and more into the so-called alternative, this might yet be the wave of the future.
