For customers to download files from our FTP site,
they must follow a few steps. First they must be using some internet
application that has the ability to communicate using FTP (File
Transfer Protocol) like Fetch, Windows95's FTP client, FTP software
client… etc. They can also use web browsers such as Netscape
or Microsoft web browsers. Web browsers do not seem to work as
consistantly as FTP utilities. Recommended FTP utilities are Fetch
for the Macintosh, WindowsNT or 95's TCP/IP client, and FTP software
for Windows 3.1.
When customers are downloading patches from our FTP
site, they must type in the entire path and file name at a command
line or URL selector. The path and files are hidden to outside
users. They must login as an anonymous user and use their internet
address for the password (i.e., user: anonymous, password: darin.kotalik@efi.com).
The path users must type in is "ftp://ftp.efi.com/private/ts/".
