Tintmaster Publications specialise in providing colour specification solutions to today's colour communication problems. The attainment of an accurate specification of colour is one of the challenges facing graphic professionals of today. Disputes between the various parties involved in the colour selection process usually stem from differences between the colour selected / specified and the actual outcome when it is printed.
Since the onset of four colour process, colour specifying & colour communication have been precarious areas of business. It is all too easy to choose a colour that, in fact, does not fall within the gamut of CMYK. If your end product is going to be produced using CMYK, then you should specify your colours from The Tint File(TM) - as it is not possible to match those colours that are illustrated outside of the CMYK print range. (see Diagram) |
Following the costs of films, colour proofing or, even worse, printing plates and machine time, being told by the customer "That's not the colour I wanted" then leaves both parties disputing who pays for a reprint and at what cost! One answer to the problem is to specify in the Four Colour Process at the onset - by reference to the illustrated colour in The Tint File (TM).
Without some sort of continuity at each stage of the colour specification process, there will always be this potential for misunderstandings. The Tint File (TM) CMYK colour dictionary, together with our latest product TintMatch (TM), provide solutions to your colour management problems.
