HOT LEATHER 2, INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Written and compiled in Macromedia Director 5.01

You can start HOT LEATHER under Windows 3.1 directly
from the CD-ROM by running HL2WIN31.EXE.

The file inst_w31.exe installs the Windows 3.1 version
of the HOT LEATHER 2 CD-ROM.  

You can start HOT LEATHER under Windows95 directly
from the CD-ROM by running HL2WIN95.EXE.

The file inst_w95.exe installs the Windows 95 version
of the HOT LEATHER 2 CD-ROM.

The installation program will first install the HOT LEATHER 2 icon
in the Program Manager Group, "Glowing Icon."  Second, it will launch 
Apple's QuickTime for Windows 2.1.2 installer.  The QuickTime software
is essential to the support of the digital video on this CD-ROM.
If the QuickTime for Windows installer finds older version of QuickTime,
then allow the installer to remove these old versions for you.  
This eliminates the old "DYNALINK" error.

After completing the installation, double-click on the HOT LEATHER 2 icon
to start running the program.

PERFORMANCE COMMENTS:

  HOT LEATHER 2 is designed for a 640 x 480 pixel monitor display.
  A monitor setting of 640 x 480 at Thousands of colors is best.

  Screen transitions and sprite graphics animate best at 256 (8 bit) colors, 
  while QuickTime movies appear best at "Thousands" (16 bit) or "Millions" (32 bit) color.
  So, the best trade-off is to set the monitor at "Thousands".  
  Setting your monitor larger only uses up your system's VRAM and
  actually causes the imagery to appear smaller on your screen.
  
Recommedations & Additional Information:

* Be sure your Video Card driver has the latest version update.
  To learn more about your computer's video display, open
  Windows Setup found in Program Manager, Main.
* Disable other programs when running the HOT LEATHER 2 CD-ROM.
* If you are low on RAM, try Control Panel: 386 Enhanced, 
  Virtual Memory set to Permanent.

Check out the HELP button at the left side of the HOT LEATHER 2
interface bar.

The LEVELS button at the lower left side of the interface bar,
links to a NAVIGATIONAL MAP, which indicates your location in 
the castle, and where to find the movies.
