• 9/25: Overview of the Cray T3E Machine (Updated)
• 9/10: The deadline for applications for the 20% of T3E resources allocated to the general Earth and Space Sciences and flight missions has been extended to September 27th. HPCC Testbed Allocation Process describes the approval process.

jsimpson is now available to the PI Teams. Please keep in mind that though it will look similar to the T3D, it is a much less mature system. The T3D was hosted by a Y-MP frontend running standard UNICOS, whereas the T3E is a standalone system running a UNICOS microkernel (UNICOS/mk) on each PE. Since this is a new operating system, you will find features that you are used to which are not yet implemented. We are learning with you, and will notify you as we discover these potholes. Also, many commands have moved. We have set default paths for you, but if you have your own aliases and paths set in your .login or .cshrc or .profile (or your codes) from the T3D, you will need to delete them.
