Tourism in Hawaii: A Model System
Objectives
- Information and data-distribution system focused on Hawaii
- Real-time
GMS & AVHRR imagery for daily TV weather show
- High-resolution imagery of Hawaii for tourists, residents and
students (K-12 and community colleges)
- Space Shuttle photography
- imaging radar data collected by the SIR-C/X-SAR experiments
- NASA aircraft data (visible, thermal and microwave)
- Aircraft data provided by a private-sector partner (TerraSystems,
Inc.)
- Local access for land assessment and natural disaster response
- Internet access to enhance Hawaii as a potential tourist destination
