Welcome!

To NASA Langley's HPCC/IITA K-12 Program

We are currently in the process of redesigning the information available from this site. Soon you will be able to find descriptions of the various projects that the LaRC HPCC/IITA effort is participating in, as well as links to what is happening at other NASA centers.

Many people have been interested in the training materials that we have been using in our summer and ongoing computer and communications workshops. Please feel free to use or modify these for training sessions at your school. If you find them useful, please send us an email, letting us know how they are being used!

The main focus of NASA Langley's HPCC/IITA K-12 research effort has been the development of a networking model that allows an entire school network to connect to the Internet through a single telephone line. A 37-page white paper has been written which describes the model, as well as the initial pilot project that has grown into a self-sustaining public school initiative which is providing Internet access for more than 60 schools in the Virginia Tidewater region.
