Objective

To increase students' desire to gain a working knowledge of English, mathematics, and science skills by digitally integrating a computerized infrastructure linking core classrooms to the Internet Web.

Approach

Integrate a computerized infrastructure linking core classrooms to the Internet Web. Information collected, assimilated, and categorized will be entered into an aeronautical database to be used by both educators and industry.

An Education Partnership of local aviation industry experts supports the thematic curriculum model by providing current resource information and classroom instruction.

Accomplishments

Designed and developed a low cost computer information networking model for implementing internet connections at other sites.

Developed an integrated thematic curriculum for ninth through twelfth grade students, an academic plan which promoted increased learning skills for English, mathematics, science, and technology subjects, and post-secondary education goals for students

The Academy created a web site and obtained links from other sites to be incorporated.

The Academy developed an Aviation Teachers' Workshop and trained 10 teachers in multimedia curriculum delivery and classroom management.

The Academy designed a local area network and computer infrastructure model which incorporated low cost netvvorking topography and is readily available for export to other sites.
Significance

This project has a unique vocational training focus, unlike any other project sponsored by IITA
