Windows httpd Overview

Windows httpd is a HTTP/1.0 compatible server for making hypertext and other documents available to Web browsers. The current Windows version is V1.4c (June 9, 1995). This is the second production release, second update.

If you have problems or questions, it is strongly recommended that you post them to the comp.infosystems.www.providers newsgroup. You are most likely to get help there. The author monitors this newsgroup as well.

For more information on this release read these Release Notes.

If you installed the server's files with C:\HTTPD as the directory root and have the TZ environment variable set (as recommended in the Installation Instructions), the server will run without any need for editing configuration files. Start the server now and go to the demonstration. This will introduce you to the server's capabilities and test your server installation at the same time.

Some people reported that it was difficult to find information on the command line options for httpd, so here it is.
