Tuesday 11th October 1994.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Did you want a bit more time?

MR. MORRIS: As long as the court bears with me I am sure I can
manage. There are so many papers -- I have so many copies
of them. I think we will be all right. Before I recall
the witness, can I just say that Mr. Lobstein said he
would go away and try to get the original draft of the
Diets for British Schoolchildren booklet because he
actually based his evidence on the original draft before
it was produced. He referred me to -- it was about
another 150 pages which were mostly the same. The main
thing was, it was pages 11 and 12 which was the
information about the amount of burgers and chips, if you
remember, that children ate specifically. So, I am just
going to serve those two pages and if the Plaintiffs want
sight of the rest of the document they can ask.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Have you actually got the book there?

MR. MORRIS: I do not think I brought it in to be honest. I
have so many documents I have been looking at
simultaneously.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I suggest you give those perhaps to
Mr. Hill; give him those copies.

MR. MORRIS: There is one for the judge.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Hold on to my copy for the moment, or are
you going to lose it?

MR. MORRIS: I will lose it if I do not give it you. That was
the one thing he was asked to check on because it did not
tally with the chart.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where shall I put that?

MR. MORRIS: Behind Dr. Lobstein.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I suggest is if you have a copy of the
original draft, as you call it, bring it in with you
tomorrow morning and give that to Mr. Hill or
Mrs. Brinley-Codd as well; lend it to them for the time
being. Would you like to come back into the witness box,
please, Dr. Barnard?

DR. NEAL BARNARD, Recalled
Examined by the Defendants, Continued

MR. MORRIS: You have given us a list of the documents you
wanted to refer to. The first one is the Surgeon
General's Report 1988 and the copies of the relevant pages
are in the miscellaneous supplementary list, Defendants'
cancer miscellaneous supplementary list, No. 7. Do you
have a copy of this book with you?
A. I have some relevant pages of it.
