       Walker; it is No. 4.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is orange IV.

  MR. RAMPTON: Orange IV.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: May he have a copy? We will have to do a
bit of research to find it.

MR. RAMPTON: Dr. Barnard, do you prefer what in this country
we call treasury tags or something like that to hold it
       together?
       A. I would leave that to your discretion. Is this the
       complete document?

  Q. Yes, I believe it is, though there may be some pages that
are missing. I do not believe they are significant. What
I have done is to make mine a composite of various bits
that I have been given by the Defendants at various
stages. You will remember, I hope, you were at one stage
referred to page 157. Can you just remind yourself? I
will not read it out, the passage headed Conclusions.
       A. The copy you have handed me has a gap between pages
       156 and 169.

  Q. Page, sorry, between?
       A. It stops at 155. Page 156 is missing. It does not
pick up again until page 170.

  Q. Do you begin again at 170?
       A. Yes, I do. Thank you.

  Q. Can you then turn quickly to page 157?
       A. Yes.

  Q. I ask you only this: Do you recall having your attention
drawn to the section 7, Conclusions?
       A. Yes.

  Q. I cannot remember whether you were asked this, but in
which case I am going to ask it again. In your view, is
it likely that we should give weight to the views of a
study group on this topic which did its work under the
aegis of the World Health Organisation?
       A. I think we should certainly consider what they had to
       say.

  Q. Can you now, please, turn back then to page 11 in this
document; it is part of the introduction. I would like
you to look under the heading 1.2: "Diet related chronic
diseases, a recently identified problem". Please go over
to the right-hand column to the paragraph, which is the
second on the page, beginning "Scientific evidence". Do
       you see that?
       A. Yes, I do.

  Q. I will read the whole of this paragraph. "Scientific
evidence continues to accumulate supporting the important
role of diet in the development of the most common causes
of premature death in developed countries, cardiovascular
