Day 043 - 01 Nov 94 - Page 35
would do about reading or other kinds of activities that
kids might want to do.

Q. Who are Conservation International?
A. I believe that they are a conservation group in the
United States, and also outside of the United States, who
are concerned about the rainforests.

Q. You said that they, as it were, have the editorial control?
A. Right. They are the ones who are most informed and
certainly can tell us more about the rainforests than we
could. So, therefore, we let them actually design and help
produce it. We may give them some hints about play
activity that might be needed within the booklet, but they
are the ones that really do the majority of the work.

This would just be the close part of that, just the
15 seconds that we just saw on the back half of that
commercial.

(The next advertisement was shown)

THE WITNESS: Now, again, this would be the 15 seconds that we
would be using in the adult commercial, and you will see
that the language changes a bit.

Usually, we have what I would call an integrator, which
means a full 30 seconds to parents, because there are no --
you know, you can talk for the full 30 seconds about the
premium when you are talking to the parent -- but in this
case, because we were just introducing the $1.99 Happy
Meal, I believe that, on the front of this commercial, we
talked about the value of the Happy Meal to the adult.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is there anything to identify the date of
that rainforest Happy Meal ad?
A. No. It would have run during 1991, but the actual
date, I am not sure.

Q. Are these all 1991?
A. Yes, I believe so. We usually have a Happy Meal each
month, so we would run approximately 12 Happy Meals during
the year.

(The next advertisement was shown)

THE WITNESS: This would be the same open that you have seen
before. I believe you have seen the close before as well.
I can fast forward, if you like.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes.
A. It is the same close that we have seen. This would be
one of the commercials that would be intended for adult,
and that talks about the $1.99 and, again, the rainforests
booklets. The last part of that commercial would be-----

Q. We ought to see the whole of that.
A. We will see the whole.

(The whole advertisement was shown)
