Day 148 - 05 Jul 95 - Page 27

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Anyway, he called them OCs in the United
       States.

MS. STEEL: Yes. On day 145, page 34, I started asking him
about the procedure with the observation check lists in the
USA. I presumed that the OCLs were pretty similar in the
USA and Mr. Stein said they were not; they were quite
different and that they had three stages for each station.
I think it would, therefore, be appropriate to see the
American OCLs, as all we have got now is the English ones.
Do you want me to say anything else on that one?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If there is anything you want to say do, but
I have identified the documents you wish to have.

MS. STEEL: There are some more that Mr. Morris is going to
       read out.

MR. MORRIS: Yes, they were mentioned last Thursday. I am
sorry, I had not noted them down on my list. That is why
I had forgotten. The health and safety minutes which were
disclosed after Jill Barnes completed her evidence.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is item 5.

MR. MORRIS: Yes, but there were specific documents mentioned in
them which are important. Do you want me to ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think you will have to give me the
references, identify the documents and show me where they
appear and tell me what you say the relevance is.

MR. MORRIS: Yes; 7th April, meeting of 7th April.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where do I find that?

  MR. MORRIS: Jill Barnes minutes?

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. MORRIS: I believe they are in pink XIII, 57 V. I have put
a D on it as well. I do not know what that means.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have that.

MR. MORRIS: On 7th April, which is about halfway through the
minutes of the meeting on 7th April 1993 -- I think they
are not numbered, are they, these pages?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have that.

MR. MORRIS: The first page of that, Minutes of Health and
Safety -- that Steering Group Meeting, "Matters Arising",
halfway down the page, it says: "Response to the Health
and Safety Executive, Accident and Prevention Advisory
Unit, assessment has been prepared and sent to HSE. It
will be abbreviated by them and distributed to the EHOs."
That response we are applying for.
