Day 248 - 13 May 96 - Page 02

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I read with interest the whole of the student
information pack over the weekend. Now, do you want
       Mr. Preston back?

MS. STEEL: There are just a couple of things to deal with
before then. One is, we will probably ask Mr. Preston
questions about this -- we got it over the weekend -- it is
basically another copy of the press release which has been
       sent over the weekend.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let me have a look at that. (Handed).
       Just pause a moment.

MS. STEEL: Sorry. The other thing is that we are serving
today the statement of Francis Tiller who was employed as
an inquiry agent to investigate London Greenpeace. We will
not be asking Mr. Preston about the statement but we
       probably will ask Mr. Nicholson.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you want me to read that now or
       overnight?

MS. STEEL: You could do, yes. (Handed).

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is probably a good idea that Mr. Rampton
has an opportunity to look at it now. (Pause). Yes.

  MS. STEEL: OK. Paul Preston.

MS. STEEL: One thing I should ask about just while Mr. Preston
is on his way up there. We asked for the better copies of
the things behind Mr. Preston's statement and we have not
heard anything. I do not know what is happening about
       that.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, what things?

MS. STEEL: No. They are not the ones I was talking about
-- the tables of all the restaurants behind the first
       restaurant.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not know what is happening about that.
I think we forgot to do something. We will, my Lord,
       attend to that.

                        Paul Preston, recalled
             Cross-examination by the Defendants continued

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you need those for this morning?

MS. STEEL: No, it was while I thought of it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I suggest you do, especially if we
finish in reasonable time today, is, if there are better
copies in court you make sure you go away with them.

MS. STEEL: OK. Just one thing to clear up, you have seen this
Times Press Supplement that appeared on your 20th
anniversary -- this is a reduced version, I think
Mr. Rampton has an original. Do you recognise that?
