The thing is, that the majority *doesn't* think the establishment should give up power.

Do you really think that it is at all likely that the government will turn its guns upon you?

The downfall of the kind of capitalism we have now is inevitable just because it is woefully inadequate to deal with long-term environmental problems: in forty years time it will painfully apparent, as the battle to prevent London sinking beneath the waves is fought or already lost and our fossil fuel reserves finally run out, that late 20th-century capitalism has failed, and people will curse the short-sightedness of the people running the world now (who will by then almost all be dead - an important point). But will people learn their lesson before environmental collapse becomes completely inevitable, or are we just going to stumble into it like we can't see it coming? And will even massive-scale environmental disaster be enough to crush capitalism completely?

If you still think that the downfall of capitalism is inevitable without people really having it unavoidably forced down their throats that it has f***ed the world up big-time, I think that, sadly, you are most likely wrong. How do you expect the "stiff political opposition from the working class" ever to come about if the world carries on as it is now?
