If you believe that when something becomes an institution that it automatically qualifies it as "socialist", then you are failing to understand socialism.
What is missing? Democracy, that's what. McDonalds is far from democratic, if it is a little institutionalized.
How a top-down, autocratic authoritarian profit making exploiter like McDonalds can be called socialist is to miss the point.
