Capitalism works?

Capitalism has really taken off this last century. The world is also closer to the
brink of destruction than it has ever been. I think a lot of people should really take
some time out to ponder the possible connections between those two facts.
Those who say "Capitalism works" -- JUSTIFY THAT STATEMENT. I have seen nothing in this
world which would indicate to me that capitalism works in favour of the WORLD'S PEOPLE.
It makes a tiny minority of people rich. I don't call that "working". If all you've ever
known all your life is capitalism, then it is difficult to believe that another system
could exist. Whether another system can exist or not depends on our imagination and us
doing something to make another system work. It means re-educating ourselves, looking at
the consequences of our actions and accepting responsibilty for our actions, however
insignificant they may seem.
