: I think I prefer the alternative route of empowering and organising the working people to fight capitalism rather than relying on dream solutions.

Don't get too smug, Siamak. Start by explaining how teaching people how to grow their own food (in the face of an unstable capitalist process) does NOT count as empowering people. Also show us how "organising the working people to fight capitalism" is going to get very far in situations where the working people put their full trust, their hopes and dreams, in the capitalist process, as they do here in southern California. It's not that I don't think the union-building process is a bad thing, it's that I'm not sure "the people" are really going to go for it here and now, and I'm not interested in becoming a prophet in the wilderness if I'm only doing it for the sake of "the people" who incidentally are not listening to my ideas at this time. Becoming a prophet in the wilderness for the sake of feeding communities and nurturing healthy and happy human beings -- THAT I can understand.
