Some are native plants or cultivars of north american natives (echinacia, yarrow, poppies), others are imports, none of which are displacing native or 'beneficial' species. The only 'mal monte' plants are the imported (and unwelcome) convolvulus (morning glory/bindweed) which is the most challenging pest to invade. But we keep up with it without the poisons the corporate world push by the truck load. None.
