: Customers are obviously beginning to realize that lousy, unhealthy food is not how they should spend their money. One can only hope this is the beginning of a trend. Are you sure it was the customers turning away from McDonalds to avoid
the "lousy, unhealthy food" that led to the closure.
For example, one local store where I live closed earlier this year,
after being open for almost 20 years, and it was true that the
patronage their was lower than in the past -- BUT they recently opened
a new store (with carparking and a drive thru) nearby, and are planning another new store in the area. Overall in my region, I am of the firm impression that their partronage has increased significantly, despite the closing of this particlular store.
I'm not in a position to comment about your situation, but could it be
that this store was 'out of date' and was superfluous now more modern stores had been built in the general region?
