When did pepsi leave Burma?

I heard it was the case that Pepsi had announced that they were leaving Burma at the end of their contract before the campaign even started - and when the 'Pepsi leaves Burma' posters went out, it was only because their contract had ended and they were never going to renew it. Is this correct?
