This README.TXT file covers compatibility information and late-breaking news concerning this release of JuniorNet. JuniorNet employees want to bring to you and your family a trouble-free entertainment experience. As will often happen in a new and evolving product, there are issues that occur in the final phase of testing which should be brought to our members' attention. This Readme file describes the issues known to us at the time this CD was mastered. In addition, please visit the FAQs section of the JuniorNet website at www.juniornet.com to access the latest updates. _______________________________________________________ Problem: Navigation icons disappear from the Navigation Bar (the purple bar at the bottom of the screen). Solution: Move your mouse pointer over the Navigation Bar where the icons had appeared and the icons should reappear. Problem: When reading a SteamMail message, a dialog appears which informs the parent to go to the Account Manager and check email. Solution: Open the Account Manager on the Desktop. Click the Email tab. Click the "Check for new email" button. For every message listed, the parent needs to decide to Approve or Deny the sender. A child's SteamMail message list will see emails ONLY from "APPROVED" senders. Problem: None of the graphics appear in the JuniorNet Main Menu after clicking the JuniorNet button in the Navigation Bar. Solution: If the name of an activity appears next to the JuniorNet button in the Navigation Bar, click the name. That activity's main menu will appear. Then click the JuniorNet button. Or try clicking the Back button to go back to the previous activity and click the JuniorNet button. Problem: During the Installation Procedure, an Error_INS5176 may appear with text indicating the installer has performed an illegal operation. This should not affect the overall functions of your computer, existing software, or JuniorNet. Solution: Please choose the Close button and continue the installation process. If this error message continues to appear, please call Customer Service at 1-800-JUNIORNET. Problem: When uninstalling JuniorNet, you need to reboot your PC after the uninstall is complete. If you do not, a future uninstall attempt will result in an error message: "An error occurred while trying to uninstall JuniorNet. Uninstallation has been cancelled" Solution: If this happens, open "My Computer." Right-mouse click the JuniorNet CD-ROM. Choose "Open." Double-click the Setup folder. Click the JNUninstall icon. From the Edit menu, choose "Copy." Open My Computer. Open the drive on which you installed JuniorNet. Open "Program Files." Open the JuniorNet folder. From the Edit menu, choose "Paste." Resume uninstall from the Add/Remove Programs control panel. Problem: You created a child account from the Special Launch Edition CD that you received between mid-March and mid-April. After installing JuniorNet version 1.0, the child's desktop icon appears as a generic Windows icon. Solution: Open Account Manager. Click the "Child Account(s)" tab. Click the child's name and re-select the icon. Problem: You launch Account Manager, enter your password, and the Account Manager does not appear. Solution: You did not create at least one child account during the registration process. You must re-register the parent account with a different login name. Open My Computer. Open the drive on which you installed JuniorNet. Open "Program Files." Open the JuniorNet folder. Double-click "Registration Wizard." Re-enter the code, credit card and account information and make sure to create a child account. Call Customer Service (choose option 2) to cancel the old account. Problem: You have Internet Explorer 5.0 installed and a Macromedia Shockwave error message appears after launching JuniorNet. Solution: You must download Shockwave for IE 5. With your browser, go to www.juniornet.com. Click "Members Only." Click the "Technical Support" link. Click " Shockwave update for IE 5 users." Then follow the installation instructions. Problem: White screen appears above the Navigation Bar after printing or sending a message when JuniorNet is running with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0. Solution: Click on the Navigation Bar back button to reload the JuniorNet main window.
