Adding New Versions

When working with a project you are allowed to add a new version to the label in the project tree, remove a version from it, modify version/label properties or share a version.

To add a new version:

1. Open a project you are going to work with. In the Workspace Navigator select the face or version for which you want to create a new version.

2. Do one of the following:

-- Click the or icon on the Project toolbar,

-- Select the Project-->Insert-->Version-->Blank or Project-->Insert-->Version-->As Copy command from the main menu,

-- Right-click selected item and choose Create New Version-->Blank or Create New Version-->As Copy from the WN shortcut menu.

Example of shortcut menu for faces

a. If you choose the Blank command from either the main menu or the WN shortcut menu, a new version of the current label will be created based on label's template.

The system displays the Version Name dialog like shown in the example below in order to allow the user to rename the Version. The default value of the version is Version <next Number>. If you click the OK, a new version will be added to the project. If you click Cancel, the adding process will be aborted. A version name cannot be blank.

b. If you choose the As Copy command from either the main menu or from the WN shortcut menu, the Insert Version as Copy dialog shown in example below appears. It allows you to create a new version of the current label as either a copy of the default label version or a copy of the currently selected version.

3. Click OK if you want to complete the operation. Click Cancel, if you change your mind. A new version will be added to the WN as the last version of the current label. This version will be selected and its window will be opened as a child window in the application.

Note: When you create a new blank label, it always has one face (called "Label") and one label version object (called Version1).
