Grouping and Ungrouping Objects

Grouping objects is used to aggregate a number of objects. An object from the group can also include groups. A result group is an object like any other. You can manipulate a group just as a single object. All modifications made to the group are applied to all of its objects. The system does not support nested groups. When you attempt to join two groups by using the Group command, a single group will be created including all objects from the original groups.

The ungroup command is the reverse of group. It separates the group into its original elements. Ungrouping acts only on the first level of the group hierarchy.

To group objects:

1. On the active design select two or more objects or groups.

2. Do one of the following:

-- Select Group from the Format menu,

-- Click the icon on the Format toolbar.

The system joins selected objects into the group.

To divide selected groups:

1. On the active design select groups you wish to separate into objects.

2. Do one of the following:

-- Select Ungroup from the Format menu,

-- Click the icon on the Format toolbar.

The application separates selected groups into several objects.
