When working with a project you can insert the predefined text into a label.
To insert the predefined text:
1. Select the label you are going to insert the predefined text into.
2. Choose the Insert-->Predefined Text command. The editor opens the Predefined Text dialog for selecting predefined field codes.
Example of the Predefined Text dialog
The items of the Predefined Text dialog have the following meaning:
Fields: |
Here you can choose from different types of predefined text. They are Data List Information, Date, File List information, Play List information, Project information, Sequence, Time and User information. |
Values: |
The list of certain values for corresponding predefined text selected in the Fields list. This list is specific for every kind of predefined text. |
Enhanced mode: |
When selected switches the dialog to the enhanced mode. The Field code box and Function button appear. If you click the latter the Function dialog appears. |
Static Value: |
This checkbox forces the system to insert a static value instead of evaluated field. |
Field Code: |
When selecting the Enhanced mode combo box, the system automatically inserts a formula in this box, which corresponds the type of predefined text and item you select from the Values box. You can modify this string manually using the description in the section titled Appendix A. Working with Functions. |
Function: |
When clicked displays the Function dialog, which allows you to select one of the functions supported by the application. For details see the section titled Appendix A. Working with Functions. |
Preview: |
Displays the sample of the predefined text. |
List Manager: |
When clicked displays the List Manager dialog. For further information refer to the section titled Managing Lists. |
Insert: |
When clicked places predefined text onto the label. |
Close: |
When clicked closes the dialog. |
3. Select the predefined text value and click the Insert button.
4. If an existing text object was selected before inserting a field, this field will be placed into the current cursor position. If no existing text object was selected, a new text object will be created in the default position (in the left bottom corner of workspace).
5. You can insert new text fields until the dialog is closed.
