Events and Traps:

      • When the agent detects a special event, it sends a trap via the network.
        When the UM-Client receives a trap, it performs the actions associated with it.
        The following table shows, for each event detected by the agent, the actions performed.

      Remark: the UM-Client actions marked with a * (action) are optional and depend on its parameter settings and those of the computer system under consideration.

      start/stop sequences for the UPS outputs
       These sequences are initiated by the agent.

      status of the UPS/agent serial communication

      writes in the event trace file

      umc_shut

      shuts down the system

      umc_unkn

      processes the unknown traps (any trap not processed by the standard procedures whether due to the trap No., transmitter IP address, enterprise field, etc.)

      Remark:
       Depending on the system used, the command file names are followed by an extension.
