Manga are Japanese comics. They have become extremely popular among young people and adults as well. It is very common to see adults reading them in trains. Many comics contain brutal and erotic elements; however, there are also other kinds of comics covering any possible topic like cooking, history, etc. Anime are animated comics. Manga and anime are also very popular in the rest of Asia. The huge number of anime web sites in European languages shows, that Japanese comics are also read in America and Europe.
