WILD NORTH - ROVANIEMI

The first snow snowmobile area at Kierivaara in Rovaniemi - you can snowmobile from the autumn right through to the summer.

Kierivaara is FinlandÆs first and the worldÆs only first snow snowmobile area, close to the Arctic town of Rovaniemi, giving you the chance to experience the rush and exitement even as early as October. One month before the rest! You can snowmobile right through till May! From Kierivaara you can also get to the best in snowmobile tracks, the 220 km long Northern Lights Route.

The terrain is at its very best in Kierivaara.

The well maintained routes Nulkki, Kotsamo and Kivalo all travel through diverse, changing landscapes. In the skilled driving are you can test the abilities of yourself and the snowmobile. The Kierivaara countryside really pleases the eye!

Reasonably priced wilderness accommodation.

The Joutolampi cabin can comfortably accommodate 10-12 persons. Sleeping on reindeer skins in the Kalliolampi or Siinainlampi log-built cottage ensures a most memorable stay in the wilderness. You could also stay in the red coloured log cottage of River Meltausjoki in either Marivaara or Unarink÷ngΣs.

The whole trip as a package.

ItÆs easy to package Kierivaara. The basic package included car train trips and sleeping cabins, snowmobile transportation on the train, snowmobile and guest transfer to Kierivaara, two overnights in a cottage or hotel. We can also tailor individual packages to best suit your requirements.

Sparkling snow, looming fells, the charming glow of the northern lights, the crackling of the fire. Snowmobiling is much more than just the feel of speed. Snowmobiling if anything provides a great setting for those of all ages to travel through the magnificent Lappish winter countryside and to try new experiences as they come. Especially in Lapland the long and snowy winter sets perfect conditions for snowmobiling from November through to May. Snowmobiling above all is one of the fastest growing interests in winter activities.
