WHAT'S NEW WITH STUDYABROAD.COM

THE PEOPLE BEHIND STUDYABROAD.COM

We have recently received several e-mail messages asking who we are. studyabroad.com is a service of Educational Directories Unlimited, Inc., a campus marketing firm based in Aston, PA. In addition to operating studyabroad.com, the company distributes advertising materials on local college campuses in the Greater Philadelphia Region, serves as a distributor of posters to agents nationwide, and works as a local advertising sales agent for Directory of Classes, publisher of University class schedule books at 80 schools nationwide. In addition to Erica, two of Liberty City's staff members are responsible for studyabroad.com.

Mark Shay
Mark Shay is the president and founder of Liberty City Promotions. A 1984 graduate of Syracuse University, Mark was employed by Conrail Corporation's Information Systems Department for 5 years as a programmer and engineer. In 1989 Shay left the corporate world to start his own venture.

Mark Landon
Mark is vice-president of Liberty City and a 1981 graduate of Penn State University. Since graduating from Penn State, he has spent most of his career in media sales. Prior to joining Liberty City Promotions in April 1994, he was a retail advertising manager for Acme Newspapers, Inc. in suburban Philadelphia.

COMING SOON

We continue to provide a web site that is student oriented and student driven. We constantly poll our users for their opinions. The feedback helps establish development priorities. The most common request we have received over the past year is: "Make your site searchable by academic subject area." So...coming soon, we will! We are currently upgrading our database structure to accommodate this additional feature.

Now we need your help. Please visit our submission area at http://www.studyabroad.com/forms/listingform.html and update our listings for your programs. It will only take a few moments and it will help make your programs more accessible to our users and more productive for you.

We are also adding program provider e-mail addresses ( another common student request) to our Free Listings. We will not publish your e-mail address unless you submit it to us using the form, mentioned above. We'll be looking for your submissions!

SWEEPSTAKES UPDATE

Our First Anniversary Sweepstakes started on September 1 and will run through the end of November. Already we have received more than 1000 entries. We would like to thank our partners in the Sweepstakes who are providing prizes. They include: AESU (discount student travel service), Sociedad Hispano Mundial, New World Telecommuations, Walkabout Travel Gear and University Educational Promotions. Many of the students who have entered have expressed interest in receiving information about study abroad programs and related services.
