Options: scheduler (Scheduled - Advanced)
Note: certain options are only available depending on the product purchased and the
operating system configuration. For more information, see Differences between versions.
The schedulerÆs goal is to establish the periodicity with which a certain scheduled scan
will be executed. You will need to indicate both the periodicity or frequency and
the range of dates during which the scheduled scan in question will be enabled.
Frequency
In this section you can indicate when a scheduled scan will be executed.
Scheduled scans can be executed one time only or every so many hours, days or weeks,
and even on certain specific days of each month. Depending on the type of
frequency chosen, the program will ask you for different types of data.
Schedule scan: this permits you to choose whether you want to scan just once, every certain
number of hours, days or weeks, or even on a certain day of a month or year.
Depending on the scan frequency selected (Once, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly), different sections will be displayed in the central area of the screen:
- Day scan will be performed: by selecting the Once option from the Schedule scan list, you can select the desired launch date from a calendar.
- Hourly Interval: by selecting the Hourly option from the Schedule scan list, you can select every how many hours the scan should be performed.
- Daily Interval: by selecting the Daily option from the Schedule scan list, you can select the date and every how many days the scan should be
performed.
- Weekly Scheduling: by selecting the Weekly option from the Schedule scan list, you can select every how many weeks and what day the scan should be
performed.
- Monthly Scheduling: by selecting the Monthly option from the Schedule scan list, you can select the day of the month the scan should be performed (e.g.
on the 17th of each month), or whether it should be carried out on the first,
second, third, fourth or fifth day of the week of each month (e.g. the fourth
Thursday of each month).
- Day scan will be performed: in this case, you can indicate the number of the day and month the scheduled
scan should be performed.
Start time: allows you to indicate the time at which the scan will start.
Time limit: allows you to indicate the lastest time by which scanning must be completed.
If it is not already finished by that time, it will be then be stopped.
Validity
You can indicate that a certain scheduled scan is valid only between two
dates. Once these dates have passed, the scan will never be executed again because
it will have exceeded its validity period.
Start date: indicates the beginning date of the validity period of a scheduled scan.
End date: indicates the date which ends the validity period of a scheduled scan. It is
optional. If you prefer not to indicate a final date, the scheduled scan will
never expire.
Enabled
You can use this option to enable or disable the scheduled scan in question.
