Esc-exit PgDn-next screen PgUp-previous screen 3 of 4 Rights ALL NONE READ Select READ to allow users to only read from files--users can't create, delete, or modify files in this network directory. (User "Supervisor" always has ALL rights.) Esc-exit PgUp-previous screen 4 of 4 Users With Nondefault Rights MATT NONE This is a list of users TIM ALL whose rights differ from the Default access rights for this network directory. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Actual directory path (112 max): Specify the DOS path (drive:\directory\subdirectory) of the local directory (one that exists on the server's hard disk) that you want to specify as a network directory. Example: to make C:\SOURCE\WKB\GRAPH a network directory, type C:\SOURCE\WKB\GRAPH Esc-exit 1 of 1V Rights Specify what rights users will have to access files in the network directory. ALL NONE The following screens explain how file READ access is controlled in the directory. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Servers Select the server where the network directory is to be located. CASCADE LOAFER NEBO PROVO TIMPANOGOS Esc-exit 1 of 1 Servers Select the server where the network printer is located. CASCADE LOAFER NEBO PROVO TIMPANOGOS Esc-exit 1 of 1 Connections (2-25): Specify the maximum number of workstations that will access the server at the same time. Approximately 85 bytes of server memory is set aside for each connection you specify, whether the connection is used or not. To optimize server performance, consider specifying the maximum connections used regularly--not the potential number that could be used. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Client tasks (4-200): Specify at least twice the maximum number of connections for your server. For example, if you have 4 workstations, specify 8 or more client tasks. Some applications require a high number of concurrent tasks. To determine the needs for your applications, monitor "Client tasks" in the summary of performance statistics for your server. (For more information, read about PSPs in your DOS manual). Esc-exit 1 of 1 Rename setup string (15 max): Type a new name for the setup string. Do not use control characters (^Q,^R, etc.) or spaces. Uppercase and lowercase characters are treated identically. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Number of receive buffers (3-20): Specify the number of receive buffers for this server. If possible, specify the number of receive buffers to be the same as the number of connections for this server. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Number of read buffers (2-20): Specify the number of read buffers for this server. Because read requests constitute about 70 percent of network traffic, optimizing the number (and size) of read buffers may improve server performance. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Receive buffer size (512-4096 bytes): Specify a larger receive buffer size only if your server's performance on write requests is slow. (The size of each receive buffer is "Receive buffer size" plus 20 bytes.) To optimize your server's performance, adjust both the size and number of receive buffers configured on your server. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Read buffer size (512-4096 bytes): Specify the size of read buffers for this server. (The size of each read buffer is "Read buffer size" plus 15 bytes.) To optimize your server's performance, adjust both the read buffer size and the number of read buffers configured on your server. (Read-buffer size has a greater affect on performance than does the number of read buffers.) Esc-exit 1 of 1 Print buffer size (512-2048 bytes): Specify the size of print buffers for this server. To optimize your printer's performance, adjust the print buffer size and the number of characters sent to the printer per second (the "Characters per second" value found in the "Information for Network Printer" list). Esc-exit 1 of 1 Error Log Display error log Select this to view the error log. Save to a file Select this to save the log to a file that you can edit and print. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Save Changes No Select No to exit without saving changes. Yes Select Yes to save changes and exit. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Banner (Y/N): Type Y to print a banner page before each print job. A banner page identifies the print job and the user who submitted it. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Copies (1-250): Specify the number of copies you want printed for all print jobs sent to this captured port. To specify the number of copies for a particular job, highlight the job in the printer job list and specify the number. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Direct to printer (Y/N): Type Y if you want a job to begin printing as it starts arriving in the job list. Type N if you want printing to wait until the entire job is in the list. When a direct job is printing, a request to send more jobs directly the printer is ignored and the jobs are printed in the order in which they are sent. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Delete Capture No Yes Select Yes if you no longer want print jobs redirected to a network printer. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Form feed (Y/N): Type Y only if your printer doesn't move the paper to the top of the form for printing the next print job. You may not need to do this because many applications already send a FORM FEED command at the end of each print job. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Job hold, indefinite (Y/N): Type Y to put print jobs on hold indefinitely. Type N when you are ready to print jobs on hold. (You may want to put large print jobs on hold and print them after regular work hours.) Esc-exit 1 of 1 Paper type (1-10): Specify the number associated with the kind of paper you want to print on. The server keeps track of the paper type (such as envelopes or legal size paper) loaded at the printer. When a job that requires a different paper type is sent to be printed, the printer pauses and the server prompts you to change the paper type. Then the job is printed. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Tab expansion (0-30): Specify the number of spaces each tab character uses when the job is printed. For example, if you specify 5, each tab character in the print job is converted to five spaces. Esc-exit 1 of 1 Printer wait (0-3600 sec): Specify how long the printer should wait for the next segment of the print job before the printer assumes that the entire job has been sent (and can begin printing).
