Windows Media Player was not designed to support the protocol you are using to access the file.
If you clicked a link on a Web page and received this error, ask the content provider for an updated link.
If you entered an Internet address and received this error, make sure you are using a protocol supported by Windows Media Player and try again. Windows Media Player supports the following protocols: HTTP, MMS, MMSU, MMST, and MSBD.
Note The supported protocols can be used to stream media. You cannot use Windows Media Player as a browser. For example, do not use the HTTP protocol to search for a Web page on the Internet. That is, do not type an Internet address that ends with an .htm file extension.
