If youÆre converting from Quicken, Money will find your existing Quicken file (version 2001 or lower) on your computer and give you the choice to convert it to the current version, so you donÆt have to reenter your financial information.

Tip

Converting? When you convert from Quicken, Money creates a copy of your original Quicken file, leaving the original file intact so you can still use it in Quicken if you need to. Money then converts the copy to create a new Money 2002 file that contains all your converted information.

Ask Money

Conversions from Quicken. In the Ask Money box at the bottom of the Help pane, type ôQuicken conversionö and then click Search. YouÆll see Help topics that provide details about how your Quicken information converts in Money

To convert a Quicken file
  1. The Setup Assistant will typically find your Quicken file on your computer. If it doesnÆt find the correct file, on the File menu, click Convert Quicken File. Find and select your Quicken file, and then click Convert.
  2. Read the information about converting your file, and then click Next. The Converter wizard starts.
  3. After the file has been converted, the Summary page appears (see Figure 1-8). Read it and then click Done.

  4. Work through the Setup Assistant as necessary to update your Quicken file and personalize your information in Money. Otherwise, click Skip the Setup Assistant and start using Money now to go to the Money Home page.
